Professional profile
Cally is a Senior Associate solicitor based in both our London and Milton Keynes offices. She has a number of years' experience dealing exclusively with family work and all areas of police representation including divorce, financial matters, police pensions and children issues.
She regularly appears in courts local to her federations in Essex and the Metropolitan area and is kept constantly up to date with local Judges' views on family matters. Cally has also established close relationships with her federations to ensure that she is completely aware of any changes or issues within the police force that may affect her clients.
Cally fully appreciates that emotional and personal issues will play a part in a relationship breakdown, but strives to achieve the best possible result for her clients, whether through negotiations or court proceedings.
Cally is a full member of Resolution, an organisation committed to providing family legal advice in a conciliatory and non-confrontational approach. She is also a specialist collaborative lawyer, trained to adopt an approach to family proceedings that is without recourse to court proceedings and further encourages co-operation between parties to work together to reach a solution to the issues that have arisen as a result of separation or divorce.
Cally’s recent work includes:
- Successfully persuaing a court that pension benefits accrued post divorce should be ring fenced in favour of the Police officer. This resulted in a pension saving for that officer of £240,000
- Obtaining a court order through Children Act Proceedings prohibiting the spouse of a Police officer changing the Childrens surname and removing from the jurisdiction without consent
- Challenging the conclusions of an acturies report and persuading the court that the pension value as provided by the Police pension department was the correct figure to use. This resulted in a pension saving of 23%.
