Professional profile

Caroline Watson is a partner and head of family law for London and Milton Keynes.

Caroline has been representing police officers for over 8 years and as a result she has extensive experience in dealing with police pensions and pay, as well as understanding the nature of the job and impact it can have on family life.

Caroline recognises that while her client’s need her legal expertise there is also a need for clients to be fully supported during a divorce or separation. Caroline has therefore built up a trusted third party team to offer additional support to her clients, including financial advisors, counsellors,  consultants and life coaches.

Caroline advises on all aspects of family law, including divorce, separation, judicial separation, civil partnerships, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation issues and children matters.

Caroline is dedicated to resolving matters through negotiation and trained as a Collaborative lawyer in 2007. Caroline is also a member of Resolution (an organisation promoting a conciliatory and non-confronational approach to family law) and was a founding member of the Milton Keynes Resolution Group.  If however matters cannot be agreed through negotiation Caroline is a robust and confident advocate.

Caroline's recent work includes:

  • Successfully defending an appeal against the future value of an officer’s pension being used by the court;
  • Acting for a high-ranking police officer in a complicated divorce and successful application for residence of his two daughters;
  • Advising an officer in financial proceedings involving third party interests and inheritances.
