Kia has been representing Police officers facing Family law disputes for over five years. Her extensive training and experience with the firm has led her to develop detailed knowledge of Police pay and pensions which assists greatly when representing Police officers during the divorce process.
As a member of Resolution, Kia is committed to resolving disputes in a non-confrontational way. Kia has experience in dealing with a wide range of aspects of private Family law to include advising on divorce, separation agreements, financial issues, cohabitation disputes, domestic violence and children issues.
Kia's recent work includes:
- Representing a client in an acrimonious divorce to include cross-petition from the other party and addressing matters in a constructive and non-confrontational manner. Kia’s approach to the case resulted in a cost saving of over £3’000.
- Representing a Police officer in proceedings issued under The Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustee Act 1996. Having been advised by previous solicitors that she did not have a case, the officer with Kia’s advice and guidance was successful in obtaining a sale of the property in question and a fifty per cent share in the equity totalling £130’000.
- Successfully challenging the conclusions reached by an actuary in relation to the value of a Police officers pension. This lead to a pension saving of 25% for the officer in question.
